Bio

I am a long-time resident of the Central Coast, having moved here as a child from North America. Prior to embarking on my art psychotherapy career I spent 16 years as a Bodyworker and lifestyle counsellor in the USA, Italy and Australia.

I specialise in working with individuals working to overcome traumatic events in their lives. This includes those recovering from accidents and/or major surgery, working through personal loss, police and emergency service workers, war veterans, and healthcare workers. I have extensive experience working with survivors of incest, rape, domestic violence, and concentration camps. Whilst working with survivors of these challenging and complex life circumstances, a focus on women’s health and wellbeing evolved, and continues to be an area of particular involvement in my work.

For those who would like to learn more about the applications and benefits of art therapy, I’m available as a guest speaker for business and community group meetings. 0412 702 833.

In my personal art practice I am primarily a fibre artist, and I also create individual mural paintings and mosaics. In my spare time I research historical, contemporary, and cultural use and interpretation of colour.

Qualifications

From Australia I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art BA(BFA) from the University of Newcastle and a Master of Art Therapy MA(ATh) from the University of Western Sydney. I am a registered art psychotherapist (AThR) with the Australia and New Zealand Art Therapy Association (ANZATA).

From the USA I hold two Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) degrees from Mueller College - one in Western bodywork and counselling, the other in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupressure.
